1.    PROFICIENCY DIPLOMA IN INFORMATION TECHNOLOGY

Course Description    

This course is divided into three modules. Each module is terminal in nature. The course is aimed at providing the trainees with knowledge, skills and attitudes which will enable them to perform systems analysis, systems design, software development tasks and administrative duties.

Module I is designed to enable the trainee become a computer operator with skills and knowledge in Operating Systems, Computer Application Packages and Information Systems.

Module II is designed to enable the trainee become a Computer Programmer and System analyst.

Module III is designed to enable the trainee become a Systems Administrator with skills and knowledge to administer various Computer Networks and management of Computer Software Applications.

 

Mode of Delivery: Live and Online

Course Duration: 30 Hrs. per unit / 6 MONTHS
Exam Body: Computer Society of Kenya
Grade: KCSE D+ / Basic Computer Knowledge

2.    PROFICIENCY CERTIFICATE  IN INFORMATION TECHNOLOGY (IT)

Course Description

The Certificate course in Information Technology (IT) is intended to provide students with a wide range of technical and technological skills. The course addresses the demand for IT specialists in the fast-changing digital world. A good grounding in fundamental skills and theoretical understanding vital for an IT graduate is the focus of this course. The course is intended to produce personnel who:

  • Have the ability to use industry-standard computer software and hardware
  • Are equipped with problem-solving skills and can adapt to a fast-changing technological world.
  • Will assist in system administration and networking in areas such as production, research, consultancy, education.
  • Will be able to progress academically to higher levels of education into relevant degree courses.
